Prayer Shawl or Tallit

1Corinthians 12:12-27 "For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also [is] Christ. 13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether [we be] Jews or Gentiles, whether [we be] bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. 14 For the body is not one member, but many. 15 If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? 16 And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? 17 If the whole body [were] an eye, where [were] the hearing? If the whole [were] hearing, where [were] the smelling? 18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. 19 And if they were all one member, where [were] the body? 20 But now [are they] many members, yet but one body. 21 And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. 22 Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary: 23 And those [members] of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely [parts] have more abundant comeliness. 24 For our comely [parts] have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that [part] which lacked: 25 That there should be no schism in the body; but [that] the members should have the same care one for another. 26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it. 27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. "

Pay strict attention to what Yeshua (Jesus) had to say to the multitudes and His disciples. Matthew 5:16-18 "Matthew 5:16-18 "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. 17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled."

So you see Yeshua did not come to destroy the laws but to fill them, which means what Yahweh said to Moses is still a good idea to do today. Let's take a look at what god told Moses about prayer shawls or the tallit.

Now knowing that you are a member of this family and that not one jot or tittle shall pass away from the law until all has been fulfilled I think it is important to listen to still another of the rules put down by the Father to Moses. The Lord said to Moses: Speak to the Israelites and instruct them to make for themselves fringes on the corners of their garments throughout the ages; let them attach a cord of blue to the fringe at each corner. That shall be your fringe; look at it and recall all the commandments of the Lord and observe them, so that you do not follow your heart and eyes in your lustful urge. Thus you shall be reminded to observe all My commandments and to be holy to your Yahweh. I, the Lord, am your Yahweh, who brought you out of the land of Egypt to be yourYahweh: I, the Lord your Tahweh. Numbers 15:37-41 "Numbers 15:37-41 "And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 38 Speak unto the children of Israel, and bid them that they make them fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put upon the fringe of the borders a ribband of blue: 39 And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the LORD, and do them; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring: 40 That ye may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your God. 41 I [am] the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I [am] the LORD your God."

Here is the Blessings for the wearing of a prayer shawl or tallit.

First the blessing when picking up the prayer shawl or tallit'

"Blessed are You, LORD our Yahweh, Master of the Universe, who sanctifies us with His commandments and commanded us regarding the commandment of the tzitzit."

Second the blessing while unfolding the prayer shawl or tallit.

"Blessed art Thou Lord our Yahweh, King of the universe, who has sanctified us with His commandments and commanded us to wrap ourselves in the tzitzit.".

Finally the blessing after putting on the prayer shawl or tallit.

"Bless the LORD, Of my soul; O LORD, my Yahweh, You are very awesome; Clothed in glory and majesty, wrapped in a robe of light; You spread the heavens like a tent cloth."

No where in scripture does it tell us not to wear a prayer shawl or tallit any more. Yeshua and the disciples wore it and remember Yeshua was without sin. Besides it is also a good way to keep your mind on praying and away from earthly things while doing so.
